It's Official

Gentlemen,

We have confirmed icetimes and a 5th team for this upcoming 2010-2011 hockey season at O'Maley Rink. We will have 2 games each Sunday at 7:00pm and 8:10pm with one team having a bye on a 5 week rotation. Week 1 will be October 17th under the following schedule:

Elks v. Mills @7:00pm
Mugs v. Penguins @8:10pm
Macs - bye week

I will get the rest of the schedule together soon and post it here as well. Every player is required to make the initial payment of $200 for Week 1, with the exception of the Macs who have a bye and can pay Week 2. Please feel free to use the Paypal link on the right hand side of the page to pay with a credit card before the start of the season. Can't wait to see you all on the ice, looking forward to the new season.

CAHL 2010-2011 Season

Gentlemen,

This is the new website for the Cape Ann Hockey League. I hope to post the league schedule, game results, standings and other information regarding payment options and any news. I'm still working out the details on teams, but it looks like we may be adding a 5th squad this season. This would mean a 5 week rotation in which each team plays 4 games and has 1 bye.

It's already September so the season is getting close, hoping to start in mid-October this year, running 20 weeks of regular season, and then playoffs, best of 3 series as we've done in the past. We will be playing 12 minute stop-time periods and will have two referees as before.

You will notice a Paypal button on the right side of the site. I am estimating the cost of the league to be $350 per player, but that might change once I have the final numbers from the rink and referees. Last year collecting money was somewhat of a problem and I ended up using personal funds to make sure that everything ran smoothly. I do not plan on doing that again, so I must have a first payment of $200 per player by the time the season starts, and the remainder ($150) about halfway through the year. This year, unlike in years past, I will be enforcing a "no pay, no play" system.

I'll try to link this website to Facebook, but for now, if you could inform everyone on your team of the website that would be great. You can sign up to follow the blog to receive post updates on the right of this page. If you have any suggestions for the site or for the league let me know. Leave a message or send an email if you have any questions or comments.
